Project Proposal

Overview

"When people feel valued, they add value"

Mission - Awaken, Inspire & Equip People to Act in ways that are Inclusive

Vision

A world where people are inspired, encouraged, and supported to grow.

Approach: Blended Self-Directed Learning

  • Learner's set their own learning goals given a framework of skills necessary for inclusion competence

  • Learners structure their own schedules and choice of access to supporting materials within program completion framework

  • Learners find outside resources to share and contribute to the body of knowledge and success of their cohort

  • Learners decide how and where they will connect to engage in collaborative learning and group projects

  • Learners lead themselves in independent learning goals

  • Learners will be required to display competency in each of the D&I competency areas

Why this work matters

Practicing inclusion is the act of ensuring that all people are invited – and able – to participate in something (i.e. an event, a meeting, a team, a system, etc.)

The proliferation of bias, prejudice, exclusion, and inequality in organizations and society at large, fuels our commitment to creating a learner centered approach to creating a more connected world where authenticity, yours and others is valued and recognized.

Competitive Advantage

Individual, Team, and Organizational Growth

Community Based Partnerships

Equitable Health Care

We have a bold vision for this work.  Organizations need diverse people, perspectives, thoughts, and ideas to compete in our constantly changing global marketplace.

Inquiry

Many questions surfaced.

  • Why aren’t diversity programs increasing diversity?

  • What motivates people to change their behavior?

  • What can be done about implicit bias if it is unconscious?

  • What is the role of leadership?

  • What about the other legs of the stool, recruitment, mentoring, performance management, social engagement across diverse groups, i.e. contact

  • How do we train and support majority members to be the Ally?

  • What can be done to support self-efficacy?

  • What are the limits and scope of this project?
