ABOUT ALICIA NEWTON

and the Learning Path Team

Hello and Welcome! Thank you for visiting our site dedicated to Diversity, Inclusion, and Implicit Bias curriculum.

I am an Independent Contractor and Learning and Development professional, with a proven track record of developing and delivering class room and virtual training.  A master facilitator who creates highly engaging and experiential learning processes focused on motivating behavioral change.  Some call me the “Course Whisper.”  Author of Believe, Begin, Become, Affirmations to Remember What You Know a book of affirmations to support positive affirmation of your gifts, talents, and purpose.

My strengths include excellent emotional intelligence, resiliency skills, conversational intelligence, active listening, focus, problem solving, teamwork, adaptability, and leadership.  Also, a bit of a nerd when it comes to technology; I love learning how to master new programs.

I work with a team of professionals who value your time and deliver across learning platforms, learning styles, topics, and diversity of perspective.

This blended learning solution, Conscious Connection, The Power of Inclusion started as my thesis for my 2016 Master's program.  The research this course is based upon includes inclusion, mindfulness, neuroscience, diversity and inclusion (D&I) benchmarking data, implicit bias, microaggressions, and months of collaboration with other inclusion, leadership, and learning experts.

The work evolved into team We are Wide Open. Christina Kisley, CEO, Lifelong Leadership, Michael Canty, CEO Managing Advanced Dynamics, Barbara Leahey, Chief Growth Officer at Leadership Growth Partners and myself.  We designed, developed and deployed social media, coursework, and consults to support the competency Practices Inclusion.

I support organizations striving to build inclusive cultures. Belonging is a human need. When people feel valued they add value. The Mission remains the same: Awaken, Inspire, and Equip People to Act Inclusively.

Learning Path was founded in 2005. We are your partners to help you successfully slay learning challenges and see the ROI in your people investment.

Some of the companies I have developed training, facilitated training or consulted with regarding learning strategy include Facebook, Chick-fil-A, The Home Depot, Coca-Cola, Cox Communications, Georgia Pacific, EarthLink, HD Supply, and the Federal Government.

I have certified trainers, facilitated training and delivered keynote addresses for thousands of people in forty states and three countries.

I volunteer and am a member of 9to5, The National Organization of Working Women, Cobb County SCLC, and Women on the Rise. I has served on the boards of non-profits committed to empowering communities and believes service is central to a fulfilling life.

I am originally from Wheeling, WV, grew up in New York, NY. I have two wonderful sons, two grandsons, one grand-daughter, and have called Atlanta home for over 25 years.
